Turbosmart's GenV Internal Wastegate (IWG) Actuator is engineered with BorgWarner's line of EFR Turbochargers in mind, with safety and performance potential backing it all up. 

With its massive surface area, and a cleverly constructed diaphragm system building additional boost, retaining control of boost levels has never been easier.

By utilizing a unique locking collar system, Turbosmart has found a way to make it so that you can quickly change your base spring setting, and quickly bump boost all the way up to 26psi if needs be. Additionally, the combination of a nitronic guide and a hard chromed intermediate rod gives the internal swivel joint system the ability to provide unrivaled levels of lower chamber sealing power. The result: True twin-port control strategies and unequaled actuation range in a race-proven product that doesn't cost a fortune.

Borrowing heavily from its award-winning GenV External Wastegate cousin, Turbosmart's GenV IWG Actuator is a must upgrade if you have a BorgWarner EFR turbocharger that does not need a position sensor cap. For those with a turbo system that does require one of these sensor caps, Full-Race offers this alternative actuator option HERE.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE BOX? 

Everything you will need to get up and going with a Borg Warner EFR Turbocharger is included in each Turbosmart GenV IWG Actuator kit. A swivel adaptor allows the fitment of any rod you need quickly and easily, thus accommodating the entire range of EFR turbos. This is made possible by the inclusion of all 3-rod options and a multitude of springs.

IS THIS A UNIVERSAL PRODUCT? 

No, this actuator is specifically made for BorgWarner EFR Turbochargers. 

DO I NEED A POSITION SENSOR CAP?

A wastegate position sensor cap can be quite helpful when data logging during dyno pulls. But for most builds, it is considered overkill, which is why the normal (non-sensor) cap remains the most commonplace. 

WHAT PSI SPRING OPTIONS DOES THE GEN-V IWG COME WITH?

7 options are available with this IWG Actuator: 5psi, 7psi, 12psi, 14psi, 19psi, 21psi, and 26psi via the use of the supplied springs.

WHAT IS A TWIN-PORT IWG AND WHY WOULD I NEED IT?

Twin-Port boost control allows pressure manipulation on both sides of the diaphragm of the actuator, allowing a broader range of boost control, as well as much higher levels of boost. 

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Wastegate not actuating
    • Confirm signal hose is plumbed to a pressure-only source, confirm pre-load during installation.
  • Poor wastegate actuation
    • Ensure signal hose is not shared and is sourced as close to the compressor as possible, check the seal on fittings.
  • Poor wastegate actuation
    • Confirm no obstructions in the actuator rod path.
  • Boost creeping at high rpm
    • The wastegate flow path is poor, the wastegate is too small for the application, ensure the ball joint is not seized.
