F150 3.5L & 2.7L (2015-2016)
The latest F-150 features two EcoBoost V6 offerings, the returning 3.5-liter engine and a new 2.7-liter option. These twin-turbocharged engines offer a balance of efficiency and output, with head room for enhancements to step up the output. Full-Race offers a host of upgrades for EcoBoost powered F-150s. Upgrading can be as simple as a reusable, drop in air filter or a Full-Race intake system, along with a stainless-steel exhaust system. For greater output, consider an intercooler upgrade or even stock replacement turbochargers. To attain even more horsepower and torque, step up to Full-Race’s Freak-O-Boost twin BorgWarner EFR Turbo Kit and a Freak-O-Boost transmission cooler.
The thirteenth-generation F-150 (2015-present) retained the same physical dimensions as its predecessor, yet it came to market with a 750-pound weight reduction, thanks to the new all-aluminum body. Ford also revamped its engine lineup for this generation, notably adding a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 engine to its EcoBoost offerings. This smaller V6 delivered 325 horsepower and 375 lb-ft torque by way of a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine continued with the same output as the previous generation for 2015-16 but now puts the power down by way of a new 10-speed transmission.
